Ajax – Standard Liege, Champions league Prediction

Ajax, just like Dynamo Kyiv, conceded a terrible penalty in the last minutes of the match and were flattened against Standard. The Dutch, however, despite the two away goals and generally the good result, may be very sorry that they didn’t manage to win, because they were the better team and created more chances. At the weekend, they surprised everybody, because they were on the verge of losing against Heracles, which would be huge blow. But this is understandable as all the efforts are focused on the upcoming match with Standard.

Standard Liege have not been in the Champions League since 2009, and have not been participating in the  tournament at all since 2014. They also didn’t win their game at the weekend and were not very concentrated against Cercle Bruge, which only proves how important this game is for both teams. Ajax is surely are huge favorites and with all these quality players they have, it’s normal to  expect them to their job much more serious now than they did in Belgium. Against Sturm Graz they also scored at least 1 goal in the first half in both games. Standard will have to look for a win or a draw with few goals if they want to qualify.
