Crystal Palace – Liverpool, Premier League Prediction
Crystal Palace started with an impressive 2-0 win against Fulham away from home in the London derby. Roy Hodgson’s team is in pretty good shape and Zaha is on fire. He also signed a new contract with the club, which made the fans very happy. The eagles are good at home, but now they are facing a tough challenge against Liverpool. There are a lot of names in the London team that have something to prove to the Reds. Martin Kelly, Sakho and Benteke are former LFC players who failed to build their way in the Merseyside grand. Roy Hodgson was also in charge of the reds 7 years ago for few months, but in these three or four months got them in the battle for survival. From this point of view, this game will be extremely interesting. Historically Crystal Palace is generally not Liverpool’s most comfortable rival. Otherwise, Palace is in a great shape and in 10 of their last 13 games they have won and the other 3 have finished as a draw. In fact, the last game in which they lost was precisely against Liverpool in the league with a hard 1-2 victory for the reds. A goal at the end of Salah decided the game back then.
Liverpool rocked the first round with a great win by 4-0 against West Ham. We can’t even say that they played very impressing with high speed and dynamic. Rather, they took advantage of West Ham’s mistakes and scored goals in the chances they got. This is normal because they are not yet in top condition. This is expected to happen after several rounds, most likely in September. However, everybody requires of them to win in every game this season so they could keep Man City’s tempo and it won’t be any different now. One thing to note is that Marko Grujic signed a new contract with the club and was then immediately loaned out to Hertha Berlin. Ragnar Klavan was sold to Cagliari for 2M pounds. Liverpool are also in super form and are in a series of 5 consecutive expressive wins.
The two teams make very high goal scoring matches when they meet. Even in the last 6 games at Selhurst Park there was “BTTS and over 2.5 goals”. But now things are not exactly the same. A lot of people will expect many goals and will bet on that, but you can see that Palace are much more stable in defense and the same can be said for Liverpool. Crystal Palace, however, lost their last 4 games vs. Liverpool at home. We have already mentioned that the teams are yet to enter their top form and as Monday evening, it is possible for us not to be witnesses on goal show this time. However, it is also possible to have a late goal as in 5 of the last 6 games between Palace and Liverpool here, there was a goal after 80th minute. Our prediction will be a victory for Liverpool at 1.50, because they are the team with much more quality and are trying to be the biggest competitor of Manchester City, which means they should win every match. Because the odds are not particularly high, there are a few additional options that we can offer you.
