Derby – Wigan, Championship Prediction

Derby County played perhaps the worst game ever since Lampard headed the team against Aston Villa in the last round and was blown 4-0 by the Villans in the first half. In the second half there was almost nothing interesting. In this match, the rams made only 3 shots and neither of them was on target. The problem is that this is not the first poor match, and they already have 3 consecutive losses in which they played poorly. Do not forget the defeat of Millwall at home with 0-1, which rival is one of the weakest guests.

Wigan is not much better. They are also weak, but during the whole season. In the last match they managed to get 0-0 with Middlesbrough at home and generally rely mainly on their defensive approach to bring them points against stronger rivals. Latics are in a series of 4 consecutive draws, but as guest they have only 1 victory. Right now, they have the chance to take advantage of the crisis with Derby, but they will have to make much effort.

Our prediction here is for a few goals – Under 2.5 goals at 1.75. Everything about our prediction is rooted in the fact that the real pressure in both teams is not so small. Both teams have very serious problems in the attack lately and probably if somebody wins, maybe it will be minimal. We expect a rather cautious match in which to think of security and safety at first. Wigan lost many matches with 1-0 as a guest this season, but the interesting thing here is that Derby have no victory over Wigan as a host in not a single league match in the history.
