Eintracht – Shakhtar D, Europa League Prediction
ANALYSIS AND PREDICTION FOR EINTRACHT - SHAKHTAR
Eintracht are in a series of 5 consecutive draws and this includes probably the most important one, 2-2 with Shakhtar last week. Then the Ukrainians also got a red card, but to score 2 away goals not to lose in the European tournaments is like a victory, although they should sorry they didn’t score few more. Even in the groups, it was obvious that Eintracht decided to give everything in Europa League and indeed this team showed their best with 6 wins in the group stage.
Shakhtar is aiming again to win the title in Ukraine and after they got out of the Champions League, it is hardly Europa League that is their biggest priority. Surely the motivation is not the same as that of Eintracht. And a very important player like Stepanenko was sent off and will now be missing. Overall Shakhtar did not play so well against Frankfurt, so now they will have to improve if they want to move forward.
It is very important here to note that not only this season, but overall Eintracht have always threw so much in Europa League and their last loss was 5 years ago was against Porto, but they didn’t actually lost, it was 2 draws and got out, because of more away goals for the dragons. Eintracht has only 2 losses out of 23 games in total in Europa League, and in their last 14 home games there were only 2 losses, one against Bayern. Shakhtar has lost ridiculously from Celta 2 seasons ago at home and dropped off at this stage, but now the Ukrainians are not even at that level since then. We think the bigger motivation, the home factor and the overall Eintracht class will prevail, but our prediction is Eintracht – Draw no bet at 1.48
