England – Spain, Nations League Prediction
England are in a very strong group with Spain and the team, which eliminated them in the semifinals of the World Cup this summer, Croatia. If they succeed in winning this group, however, they have a good chance to win this league and qualify for the European Championship. However, it’s not quite sure of what their motivation will be. So, this is a new tournament in which each team have their priority. For some teams it is much easier to qualify here, for others this is not true and they prefer the qualifications. Specifically, Spain and England are more of the second ones, but this does not prevent the teams from ranking with the biggest teams in the world. At this point, England enjoy a good life and although they have failed to reach the final in WC, they are in good shape and are quite united. In international matches, everything depends on the teams selected and Southgate has called all the best except those who are injured. At Wembley England is very strong. They rarely miss to score and usually if that hapeens, the result is 0-0 then, but this has only happened in two friendly games in recent years.
Spain has a new coach and this is Barcelona’s former player and coach, Luis Enrique. The Spaniards got kicked out of the WC from Russia with penalty shoot-outs, when Loppeti was sacked at the start of the tournament. This was extremely disappointing for them and quite shocking for the world. Now comes a new era for Spain. Many people have retired of the national team. Including Pique, Silva and Iniesta. These are some of the biggest players in La Furia Roja. Costa is also not called, like Jordi Alba. Spain have no loss in 24 games, with most of them winning. The last loss of the Spaniards was at EURO 2016 when they got eliminated from Italy losing by 2-0. Since this match until now, Spain has not missed to score a goal.
In this game, it is difficult to predict the outcome, as it is not clear what exactly is the status of both teams, especially for Spain. Both teams have strong defenses, but now there are a lot of changes. Still, Spain has to retaliate and Germany and France made boring 0-0 on Thursday, which is an exception, because when there are matches with teams of this caliber and it’s not a very important game like elimination phase of Euros or WC, we usually see goals. Both teams have great attackers and our prediction is BTTS of 1.97.
The new ones in England are Gomez and Shaw, who have been performing great for their clubs since the start of the season. Cahil and Vardy have retired and Sterling, Ox and Lallana are injured. Young is not called
Apart from those who have retired, only Koke and Costa are missing. Odriozola and Nacho Monreal are also not called
